Share your mysteries at the Secret Society of Women

An online community created “by women, for women,” the Secret Society of Women is intended to be a place to share. Co-founded by Ling, a reporter and previous host of “The View,” the Secret Society of Women is meant as a place for sharing secrets. The Secret Society of Women was started in early November, but is already increasing by a lot. Don't get worried, this isn't an additional thing that you would need to take out a pay day loans just to sign up for.

The reason for beginning the Secret Society of Women

Lisa Ling co-founded the Secret Society of Women site. Ling was in a hard time of her life. A miscarriage had hurt her. Then she said women needed “a confidential, anonymous community to share experiences and soak up advice and words of wisdom from other women.” The site went live in early November, and on Dec. 7 Ling announced the website on “The View.”.

A community intended for sharing

The Secret Society of Women is a website built to encourage the sharing of secrets and building of community. There are other topics such as "Daily Wish," "Wisdom" and "Favorite Things" that you are able to go to and post instead of just sharing secrets. The site highlights that all sharing can be done anonymously, though one has to register with an e-mail address and username to post anything on the site.

Secret Society of Women not the only place for secrets to be shared

The Secret Society of Women is just the latest incarnation of secret-sharing online. Postcards with many peoples' secrets are posted on a blog called PostSecret which had a huge following. Communities depending on secrets of many peoples' lives have been happening for a long time because of the anonymity that the Internet provides. The Secret Society of Women is likely going to be very popular considering the following it has although it is just a general community.
