Japans First Female Pro Baseball Pitcher, Eri Yoshida

In December of 2008 a 17 year old woman named Eri Yoshida made history in Japan by signing on to a Professional Baseball team as a Pitcher. This is not just an advancement for Japan but also for equality among men and women through out the world. This shows how men and women should get equal pay for equal work and the same recognition for doing the same job. Eri Yoshida made her recent debut and she looks very promising against her all-male competition. She was able to strike out a batter at this debut with her side-arming knuckle ball, she entered in the ninth inning and only pitched to two batters, one walked and well one struck out. Eri Yoshida has been playing baseball since she was in the second grade and has made it aware that she can play with the big boys. She is currently playing with the Kobe 9 Cruise which is considered a farm system club for the Japanese majors.
