Susan Powell Not Found In Idaho

Despite the hope of investigators, the body found in Ammon, Idaho did not match missing Utah woman Susan Powell. Investigators confirm that the body did not match the explanation of Susan Powell, who’s nevertheless listed as missing from her West Valley, Utah home. To keep the search for Susan Powell going given that December of 2009, friends and family have chipped in instant cash.

Susan Powell disappeared in December

Susan Powell, a 28-year old mother of two, was reported missing in early December 2009. Originally, all four family members were reported missing on Sunday. Susan Powell’s husband and two children did return to town on Monday afternoon. Josh informed investigators that he and the children had gone camping, and Susan Powell had been staying at home. The missing person’s report was filed when the children did not show up to daycare. Susan Powell’s wallet, purse, cell phone and vehicle were all at the house.

The West Valley police department has named Josh Powell, husband to Susan Powell, as a “person of interest” within the case. The very same day that Susan Powell disappeared, her husband used instant cash to put several hundred miles on a rental car. Josh Powell has moved his family to Washington state since Susan Powell disappeared. There has been no arrest for Susan Powell’s disappearance, though investigators do say interviews with Josh just “create a lot more questions than answers”.

Body in Ammon, Idaho not Susan Powell

A decomposed body was discovered by a person looking for better cell phone reception outside of Ammon, Idaho. Ammon, Idaho — just outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho — is within a day’s drive of West Valley City, so Idaho police detectives contacted West Valley City police, believing that the remains might are those of Susan Powell. Investigators in both Idaho and Utah have confirmed that Susan Powell’s body is not the one found in Ammon. Discovering the identity of the body might take several weeks of forensic tests.
