Before it got really and truly severe, students thought they were witnessing a joke when they saw a teacher beating a student. By causing outrage across the country, this teacher beating a student has launched police and school district investigations. If she is charged, the teacher may have to use installment loan to pay for her defense, because she has been fired. Either way, the “teacher beats student” question is raising blood pressures across the nation.
Teacher beating student caught on cell-phone video
The so-called “teacher beating” caught on tape by a cell phone shows an incident where a teacher beats a student. The teacher beating caught on camera shows a young man backed into a corner, then dragged out and kicked, hit, and slapped by an adult woman. Allegedly, the woman shown in this video is Sherri Davis, science teacher at a charter school in Houston. The entire teacher beating caught on tape began, apparently, as the 13-year old boy had teased an additional student. Other students in the class admit that 13-year old Isaiah Johnson had been teasing a student, but this still cannot justify the teacher beating a student.
Charges to be filed in the teacher beating student event
When the school district was informed of the teacher beating student incident, they placed teacher Sherri Davis on administrative leave. Now teacher beating has been caught on video, she has been fired. The teacher and student were not the only people within the room – there were multiple other school employees and students within the room. Given the fact that teachers tend to be overworked and underpaid, one might wonder why a lot more teachers don’t “just snap. The school district and the county sheriff's department have launched an investigation to the incident. It is possible that Sherri Davis can be charged with assault, among other things, for her treatment of Isaiah Johnson. The fine for assault, in Texas, can be as much as $ 10,000 – about 25% of the average teacher’s salary.
