Discovery purchases Sarah Palin's reality show

Discovery networks appears to have taken steps, perhaps including low interest loans, to be the highest bidder for the Sarah Palin reality show she and producer Mark Burnett have been proposing to networks. This Sarah Palin reality show will most likely be an “Alaskan Travelogue,” though there have been no official statements yet. Before purchasing Sarah Palin’s reality show, Discovery’s most expensive show had been their $25 million “Earth” series.

The plans for Sarah Palin’s reality show

Sarah Palin is a figure that draws controversy at all sides, so her reality show is certain to bring viewers to Discovery. Discovery will be paying over $1 million per episode of the Sarah Palin reality show. Other than one cameo in a Discovery show on the Iditarod, this can be Sarah Palin’s first reality show. A release date for the as-of-yet-unnamed Sarah Palin reality show has yet to be announced. The few reports that have come out about this reality show say it “will center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in the 49th state – with the ex-VP candidate as a guide”.

Reality shows are not Sarah Palin’s favorite

Sarah Palin’s relationship with the media has not always been a pleasant one. In “Going Rogue,” Sarah Palin made a point of accusing the media and the campaign for being “intrusive” and “difficult to handle”. In previous interviews, Sarah Palin was asked about the possibility of a reality show within the future, and she reacted with surprise, stating that she wanted the media to stay away from her family. Sarah Palin, though, does not shy away from media attention. She is a commentator on FOX news and has done various interviews. Since bursting onto the scene as a Vice-Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin has gotten more than a few guaranteed payday loans on her celebrity.
