Sign language is a self esteem booster

A benefit to sign language is the self esteem that comes when a child is communicating affectively with their parents. If a child is attempting to speak with their parents and they can't communicate, they will feel lost inside. They will feel like there is nothing they can do to convey their needs to the others around them and their self esteem will drop greatly. If a child can communicate through signing with their parents, they will have their self esteem increased greatly. It also is good for a child to be able to communicate with other children and their siblings. My nieces and nephews love signing to each other. It makes their friendship and communication stronger.
