Deluge in Australia continues as Brisbane floods worsen

The floods in Brisbane, Australia, are getting worse. The summer in the Southern hemisphere has produced a monsoon season, which has caused flooding in the state of Queensland. The flooding is the worst it has been in over a century. There are going to be mass sum of installment loans taken out to try and repair these damages.

More flooding in Brisbane now

The recent floods in Australia are set to worsen, as more incoming water is due to the city of Brisbane, according to The Telegraph. Brisbane is the largest city in the state of Queensland, which is in the northeast region of the continent of Australia. There was already a wet spring that was shown before the heavy rain that continued through the month of December. This is why the state of Queensland has been seeing flooding that is really bad. The flooding will continue after a terrible flash flood already hit Brisbane since the Brisbane river keeps swelling with rainwater. The city is the third largest in Australia with over 2 million. Over 9,000 homes may end up awash with water, and power will be shut off in the city for safety. When it comes to flooding, this is a terrible one. It is the worst in over a century that has been recorded.

Australia seeing bad news come with La Nina and hurricanes

There is a reason why there were really heavy rains in Australia during spring which began in September. This is because it is a La Nina year. In the beginning of December, flooding had already begun. Hurricane Tasha at Christmas just made it even worse. The tropical storm lashed Queensland with rain, swelling rivers and causing flash floods throughout the state in northeastern Australia. Fully one third of Queensland is under a state of emergency. Texas is about the same size as the area.

Brisbane braces

There is floodwater seen all over the Lockyer Valley region. This is where the location of Brisbane is. Swollen above its bank in the Brisbane river. There's a good chance the high tides and rain will keep the flooding going for a while. Flooding is set to continue in the third largest city in Australia, and recovery efforts could cost as much as $10 billion.
