Remember the last one in 1985?
Wyclef Jean and a cast of recording industry luminaries are gearing up to produce "We Are the World 2010" to benefit Haiti disaster relief.
The stars may have changed, but the message of hope and charity remains the same.
“We Are the World 2010” is currently in the works. Show Biz Gossips reports that a gathering of artists recently went down at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood. By gathering, they mean nearly 100 musicians, all of whom want their work to help those affected by the Haiti earthquake. Native son Wyclef Jean and many others are in on the action. Michael Jackson – if he were still with us – no doubt would have returned for his second “We Are the World” performance.
Ki moun?
Who will be performing, you ask? Various reports indicate that “We Are the World 2010″ performers will include: Wyclef Jean, Kanye West, Will.I.Am, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Usher, LL Cool J, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Vince Vaughn (hmmm), Jeff Bridges, Mos Def, Rob Thomas, Justin Bieber, Jason Mraz, Pink, Sugarland, Adam Levine, the Jonas Brothers, Drake, Kid Cudi, Drake, Julianne Hough and more.
It may debut on the first night of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics
Keep your eyes on NBC’s coverage on February 12, 2010. This hasn’t been confirmed, but according to Show Biz Gossip, “We Are the World-25 for Haiti” (the official title) will debut that night. It’s sure to be a big deal, much as the co-written and produced “We Are the World” was back in 1985 when Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones set their work to music, with friends. The original was geared to assist in African famine relief, and the single hit number one on worldwide music charts. … click here to read the rest of the article titled “"We Are the World 2010" here to aid in Haiti disaster relief“
